We met at Montclair State University in 2010. Jess, a freshman, had just gotten accepted to a program that afforded her the opportunity to travel to Nicaragua for two weeks where she'd study the impact US trade policies would have on the Global South. Jeff, a junior, had been selected for that same delegation just a year prior. The delegation leader, a professor at the University, hosted a gathering at his home in winter 2010 to bring together former and current students taking part in the opportunity. That's when it all began. Our first date was Jeff's Philosophy of Ethics class - a two and a half hour course which consisted of 8 students debating the ethics of selling organs. Jess was smitten. From early on in our relationship, we knew that our connection was strong. We bonded over social justice issues and politics, our mutual admiration for philosophy, and our desire to make the world a little bit better than how we found it. We've grown significantly in different ways but never apart. Our wedding this October means so much to us - it represents the culmination of the struggles, joys, laughter, tears, and growing pains we've experienced throughout the years. We're so excited to share our special day with you!
