Paul and I met in a very “modern” way- online! Back in the fall of 2017, we matched with one another on Bumble. Paul hooked me in from the beginning with a joke and I knew I had to find a partner that could make me laugh. When discussing what we did for our jobs, Paul told me he was a UPS driver, I asked how he liked it and he said “well it has its UPS and downs” and that joke was what sealed the deal. I remember that Paul attended a wedding one of the first few nights we were talking and by the look of his snapchats he was sending me, I could tell he was the life of the party and a fun person to be around. And him being very attractive didn’t hurt ;) After a week or so of talking, Paul asked me on an official date. We met at one of my favorite restaurants- Buffalo Wild Wings. We only planned for dinner, you never know how first dates might go... but it was fantastic, he made me laugh all night long and the conversation was effortless. He was just as handsome in person and has the most radiant, contagious smile. Since it was going so well, we decided to go down the road and see a movie. There were not very many choices so we decided on “IT”. I’m not normally a fan of scary movies but knowing I had someone next to me I could grab when it got scary made everything okay. (But in the end the movie wasn’t even that scary. Clowns don’t bother me.) After the movie, Paul drove me back to my car still at Buffalo Wild Wings. As we were saying our goodbyes and planning our next date, we shared our first kiss in the Buffalo Wild Wings parking lot. After dating for about a month, we attended my friend Alexis’ Halloween party. I dressed as a unicorn and Paul dressed as Dwight from “The Office”. Throughout the party, Paul was telling my sister and friends how much he liked me. It was probably a mixture of the drinks and peer pressure, but around midnight, Paul asked me to be his girlfriend! And the rest is history! I am so excited to marry this wonderful man!
Coming soon...
Paul proposed to me in front of my mom, dad, and sister. We were all together celebrating an early Christmas. Paul had told me earlier in the week that we should have my parents take pictures of us with Myra in front of the tree for us to use on Christmas cards the next year. So I made sure I looked nice and did my hair and makeup. As my parents were taking our photos, my dad suddenly says “Here take a picture with this” and tosses Paul the ring box. Then Paul got down on one knee and asked me to marry him (he might have said some other things but I was in shock, I don’t really remember). What I found out afterwards was that when Paul asked my dad to look at something in the garage earlier that night, he was asking him for permission to ask to marry me. Since my dad said yes, Paul told him his plan and gave him the ring to hold. The excuse of taking photos for our christmas cards was perfect because my mom was taking pictures already and captured the special moment! It was very special too because only my dad and Paul knew what Paul was planning. It was a surprise for me, my mom, and my sister too! The ring he chose was beautiful and perfect, the whole proposal was perfect! ❤️
