What is the weather like in Berkeley in August?
Answer
Berkeley is typically 65 degrees and partly cloudy in August. It may reach up to 75 degrees. Berkeley has a pretty mild climate. Rain is not likely.

What should I wear?
Answer
We are having a party in the park. We'd love you to dress in your best garden/park vibes!
Question
Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Answer
Our afternoon ceremony and reception will be outdoors in the park. Guests will walk through the grass on mostly unpaved pathways. For that reason, stiletto or otherwise-thin heels are not recommended. After the dust has settled, we'll be hosting a house party which will have an indoor and outdoor element.

Jeff's parents are Karen and Russ Jelsma. Rebecca's living parent is Anida Weyl.

Can we bring our kids?
Answer
YES! Our wedding is a kid-friendly event. We will have some kid activities and the food offered is kid-friendly. Our house-party is kid-friendly but by the time they are ready for bed, we make no promises!

Am I allowed to bring a plus-one?
Answer
We are not allowing additional plus-ones to our wedding, as we'd like to keep the guests list just to those who know us well. The name of every guest invited to attend is clearly listed on your invitation and no additional guests can be accommodated. If we knew you had a partner but didn't have their name handy, we indicated "guest" on the invitation. If we included your children and partner, we listed "and family."

Will there be an open bar?
Answer
Yup! Beer & Wine are allowed at the Park. At our house, who knows what you'll find lying around at the bar!

Where should we bring/send our wedding gift?
Answer
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home at 1714 Parker Street, Berkeley, CA. A wedding card box will be at our reception. Thank you for thinking of us!

Our wedding registry is located on this website! Scroll to the top of the screen and click "registry" to browse what we've picked out. We have tried to be as local as we can. By choosing small business, we hope to support our local economy and not large corporations.

What's the best airport to use?
Answer
Oakland International Airport is smaller and closer to the venue. Both San Francisco and Oakland airports receive large volume of traffic and should have ample flights available if you are coming in from out of town.

What are the addresses of the wedding ceremony and reception venues?
Answer
The address to Tilden Park (wedding/reception) is: Padre Picnic Area, Orinda, CA 94563. It's located on South Park Drive near the Regional Parks Botanical Garden within Tilden Park. Our house is located at 1714 Parker Street, Berkeley, CA 94703.

Is the park accessible via public transit?
Answer
Public transit can get you most of the way. You can take the 65 bus to Grizzly Peak from Downtown Berkeley. However, after that point you will be hoofing it another 1.5 miles. Yikes! We recommend you drive/carpool or take a taxi/Uber/Lyft.

Is the parking at the park ADA accessible?
Answer
Yes. The parking lot is flat and there is one ADA spot.

What's the easiest way to get to and from your wedding venue(s)?
Answer
The easiest mode of transport is a car. Car directions are below. Uber/Lyft is a great option. We recommend you schedule your ride down the hill in advance if you can. From the ocean/bay side: FWY580 (either E or W) take the University Avenue exit. There are many ways to go and we've listed two. Just remember you are going East and not West! 1) Make your FIRST LEFT onto Sixth Street. Turn right onto Cedar Street. Take Cedar up the hill until you get to the end, and turn left on La Loma Street. Turn Left onto Glendale St. Turn Left onto Campus Drive. Continue to Shasha Rd. Take a left onto Grizzly Peak and then your immediate right onto Shasta Rd. Take Shasta into Tilden Park. Stay RIGHT. Turn right onto Wildcat Canyon Rd. Turn right onto South Park Drive. Padre Picnic Area is on the right. 2) Continue straight onto University Avenue. Take University until you see UC Berkeley signs. Turn left onto Oxford Street. Turn right onto Hearst Avenue. Turn left onto Euclid Street. Take Euclid to Marin Avenue. Turn right onto (up!!) Marin Avenue. Turn right onto Grizzly Peak. Turn left onto Shasta Rd. Take Shasta Rd. into Tilden Park. Stay RIGHT. Turn right onto Wildcat Canyon Rd. Turn right onto South Park Drive. Padre Picnic Area is on the right. From the east side, there are many ways to go but we think this one is the best one: From HWY24 take Fish Ranch Rd Exit. Exit onto Old Tunnel Rd. Turn right on Fish Ranch Rd. Turn right onto Grizzly Peak. Turn right onto Golf Course Drive. Turn right onto Shasta Rd. Turn right onto Wildcat Canyon Rd. Turn right onto South Park Drive. Padre Picnic Area is on the right.

Is there parking near your wedding?
Answer
For guests within driving distance of the venue, there is free on-site parking.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Answer
The wedding venue/reception has ADA parking and the grassy area is mostly flat, but we have not tested a wheelchair in the space. Our house is not ADA accessible, there are stairs.
Question
Is there going to be a bus to get to the Park?
Answer
No- but we recommend you carpool. If you don't want to drive or don't want to rent a car, the park is accessible by Uber/Lyft. To leave via Uber/Lyft, we suggest you SCHEDULE your ride between 7:00pm-7:30pm on Saturday before you leave. Service can be a little spotty.
