FAQs

The Wedding Website of Leila King and Jeff Marek
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We would love to see our family and friends dress up for our big day! We are requesting guests come in black tie optional. This includes mid to floor length dresses or suits/tuxes.

Question

Will there be transportation provided?

Answer

We will not have any day-of transportation organized since ridesharing (Uber/Lyft) is readily available in the area. Limited parking will be available at both the church and the reception venue.

Question

Is there a hotel room block?

Answer

We have a hotel room block at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk in the heart of downtown Chicago and directly on the river. The hotel is centrally located between the welcome party, church, and the reception venue. Of course, you are more than welcome to select a different hotel if you prefer!

Question

What should I do between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

We’ll have a brief "Catholic" gap for wedding party travel and photos. Guests can explore nearby bars or riverwalk spots or rest/freshen up in the hotel before heading to the reception. We will have a list soon of our favorite spots in Chicago on our travel page that you are welcome to explore!

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

As much as we love your little ones, our wedding is exclusively for adults, with the exception of immediate family who are part of our wedding party.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited space, we can only accommodate guests who are formally invited. If you’ve received a guest, they’ll be specifically addressed on the envelope of the invitation. Otherwise, we ask that only the named people on the invitation are in attendance.

Question

Will there be an after party?

Answer

Yes! We’re keeping the celebration going at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk hotel lobby after the reception. All guests are welcome to join for late-night drinks and snacks. No need to change!
