While in Asheville, you cannot miss out on driving and/or hiking along the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway! The highway is 469 miles long, but there are plenty of amazing sights within driving distance of Asheville. See the link included for a lot more info on getting to the Parkway from Asheville, recommended driving routes, and hiking trails! One of our favorite hikes is to Black Balsam Knob along the Art Loeb Trail.
The beautiful Pisgah & Nantahala National Forests surround Asheville and offer more lovely sights and fun hikes. The Blue Ridge Parkway also cuts through the Pisgah National Forest, so you may be able to hit both at once, but there are additional places to explore all around the area. The link includes more information and suggestions for Pisgah specifically including rivers, waterfalls, and the tallest mountains in the eastern US! Fun fact: Jeff surprised Larissa by taking her to an observatory in the Pisgah National Forest for her 24th birthday!
There are plenty of amazing breweries in downtown Asheville and the South Slope area. A few of our favorites are Wicked Weed, Green Man, Hi-Wire, and Bhramari, but you really can't go wrong with any option!
An awesome location and a really cool brewery with guided and self-guided tours!
Must-see estate with a beautiful chateau, gardens, and winery.
Plenty of awesome artist studios and a great area to walk around and explore!
Awesome & unique tacos!
We know this is a chain that a lot of people may be familiar with, but their food, and specifically their biscuits, are so good!
Really good Indian food! This is one of the first restaurants that Jeff and Larissa tried in Asheville.
