Dear Friends and Family, Due to COVID-19 we've had to adjust our dream wedding in Hawai'i to something closer and more intimate. We are changing our wedding ceremony to a virtual ceremony via Facebook LIVE, Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 5:00 PM. More details will be posted closer to the date. Love, Jeff and Kendra Newell
Without spoiling too much (I hope Jeff tells the whole story at the wedding,) supposedly, we met one another a total of three times before we "clicked." The first time we were strangers who ran into one another on the beach. Vance can attest to this. The second was at our mutual friend's (Nate's) house for a fish taco party. And the third, which was the charm, happened to be Kendra's Grad Night, that she ditched to hang out with her friend Angela at a Volcom party. If you know both of us very well, I am sure you can guess who made the first move . . . After that, we spent every last summer day with one another. In a month's time, Jeff found himself, after only knowing Kendra for a solid month, accompanying her to the airport where she would fly to Hawai'i for her first year of college. They both did not know wether it would be there last goodbye. But, here we are today, and soon will celebrate, the patience, hope, and endless love the two have proved. Third time's a charm ;)
On a quiet North Shore morning, Jeff pulled up to Aunty Miki's hale, where Kendra was staying. He greeted her with a kiss, two warm coffees-in-hand, and ripe mangoes for brekkie. They agreed to start the morning off with their usual Bible Study, as their relationship was built on the foundation of reading God's Truths. Jeff gave Kendra the reigns to find the best spot. And, she knew just the place! A rocky spot over looking all of Haleiwa and the blue clear waters they were excited to swim in, later. After cutting perfect squares from the mangoes, sipping on Kona Coffee grounds, and discussing what-in-the-heck God's Word was telling us that morning - Jeff decided to go on a HUGE major tangent. He dropped to a knee and took out this beautiful Acacia wood box, which carved our Signature: J+K, sealed with a heart around it, and stabbed through with an arrow. Through tears of joy, a profession of love, and a beautiful ring, Kendra (with a smidge of disbelief) said "YES." Our endless love continues.
