Jeff and I began our relationship in a "Texan" long distance — from Dallas to Houston. We spent a lot of time on I-45 (easily top 5 most boring drives in America) to visit each other. The distance sparked our love of traveling together and we've now explored 17 states and counting! We are excited to get married in Dripping Springs - halfway between Dallas and Houston.
While visiting Dallas one weekend, Jeff informed me that we would be attending a Memorial Day party at one of his friend's house. We pulled up to a secluded house blocked by countless Japanese Maples and traveled along the winding gravel foot path through the forest canopy. As we approached the foot bridge that lead to the front door, I looked through the floor-to-ceiling windows and began panicking that no one was home. I told Jeff that we can't beat the hostess to a party and that we needed to leave immediately. When I turned around, Jeff was down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Overwhelmed with confusion and happiness, I said "Yes!" It took a few more minutes for me to realize that there was never a party! The treehouse in the middle of the city was the perfect location to celebrate our engagement!
