FAQs

Question

Where should I stay in Chicago?

Answer

There are SO MANY OPTIONS when it comes to accommodations. We have three room blocks set aside (See the Travel tab) for our guests but other than that, we encourage people to use sites like AirBnB and VRBO to find accommodations that fit their needs. We understand this may be tricky for some so PLEASE reach out for help. Labor Day Weekend will be VERY BUSY. It's important that you reserve accommodations as soon as you can.

Question

Where/how do I park my vehicle in Chicago?

Answer

This could be tricky as well, but don't worry! Hotels usually have a day rate for parking but we love using the SpotHero app in the city. You can find and reserve spaces ahead of time for a price that you're comfortable with.

Question

Where should we eat in Chicago?

Answer

Visit our Things to Do page for our favorite spots and Chicago "must-eats." Chicago is known for deep-dish style pizza, Chicago-style hotdogs, Garrett's popcorn, Italian Beef Sandwiches, etc. The area we've chosen is full of options for you.

Question

What will the weather be like in Chicago on Labor Day weekend?

Answer

The weather can change at any time but I would expect the weather to be in the 75-degree (24 Celsius) range. It's always good to keep an eye on the weather before traveling but we are hopeful that it will be a nice end of summer weekend.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Being from Cleveland AND a wedding photographer, we can't take that chance! Every event is indoors :)

Question

What happens after the ceremony and before the reception?

Answer

After the ceremony, guests will be on their own for a couple of hours while the bridal party takes pictures. We will have some food and drink suggestions for you upon our arrival. You are also welcome to return home or to a hotel to rest. It's going to be a fun night!

Question

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will definitely be missed. If you cannot make it to the wedding festivities, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP "no" so that we can plan accordingly.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is adults-only. We appreciate you making arrangements in advance so that you can enjoy the night with us. Traveling away from your little ones can be tough. We do have some guests bringing a grandparent or babysitter to watch their children in the hotel room during the wedding festivities.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget and a limited capacity in the restaurant. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on the invitation. Thank you for your understanding.

Question

How do I RSVP and by when?

Answer

Your invitation will give instructions on when and how to RSVP however, you can also RSVP here on our wedding website.

Question

If I (we) want to stay at Embassy Suites but the site says: "Unfortunately, this room block is sold out." but we still want to stay at Embassy and not another hotel, how should we continue forward?

Answer

Go to hotels.com and book ... rooms are coming up at $251 a night for Embassy Suites!!

For all the days along the way
