Pandemic Policy:

For the safety of all our guests in attendance the Bride and Groom, in support of their Parents, are kindly requesting all guests be vaccinated against COVID-19, or have a negative COVID-19 test result, in order to attend the celebration. Additionally, we are encouraging all guests to take a COVID-19 test before the attending the wedding festivities.

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. For example, cocktail dresses, a suit and tie or a sports coat.

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

The Ozarks are beautiful in the fall! Temperatures will likely be low to mid 60’s during the day but may dip when the sun goes down, in the event that of rain or cooler temperatures you may want a light jacket.

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

The Ceremony will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 1:00pm and the Reception will be at Highland Springs Country Club, with cocktail hour starting outside at the Patio on the Hill at 5:30pm and a reception following in the ballroom. Both the ceremony and reception location have plenty of parking, but the lot at the ceremony will fill quickly. To avoid long walks along busy streets we recommend carpooling!

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

There will be a small break of time between the ceremony and reception, if you are looking for things to do in Springfield during that time please take a peek at our favorite spots list.

Are there other wedding events I can attend?

Answer

We would like to invite all our guests to attend our after party at the Garden Grille and Bar at the Hilton Garden Inn immediately following the Reception. We also welcome all guests to join us for brunch the following morning at the Hilton Garden Inn.

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Parking for the ceremony is available on the street and in the parking lot next to St. Joseph’s school Please map to Highland Springs Country Club and let security at the gate know that you are coming for the Walker Upp Wedding. There is plenty of parking near the entrance to the reception.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive 15 minutes before the ceremony starts to have ample time to find your seat

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones and spending time with them, unless your invitation specifically includes “and family” we ask that you please leave them at home. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us. If you are visiting Springfield and need a babysitter to come to your hotel, we are happy to provide a recommendation for one locally.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Yes, we have room blocks at The Hilton Garden Inn at 4155 S. Nature Center Way Springfield, MO 65804 you can reference this room block link: Walker Upp Wedding Room Block. You can also call the hotel at 417.875.8800 and reference the Walker Upp Wedding to book. If you are looking for something a bit more trendy, we do not have room blocks or discounts at either of these locations as they are further away from the reception but very fun! Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes, they both are. There is a ramp on the side of the church if needed. There is an elevator located inside the reception location for those looking to avoid any stairs.
