Yes and no, but for our purpose - no, it is not on the main campus. Milton Hershey owns land all over Hershey that we call “campus”. The Purcell Friendship Hall is going to be off 743. You will turn on McCorkle Road and drive until you see the big parking lot located on the right hand side.
Please plan to arrive at the ceremony between 4:30 - 4:45 PM so that you can walk in and get seated. The ceremony is outdoors (covered). Cocktail hour will take place outside directly after the ceremony.
There is no formal dress code. This a second wedding for both of us, so we are more focused on spending time with family and friends and having a great time dancing. With that being said, we do ask that guests not wear jeans, but suits are optional. Shirts and ties for the men are sufficient.
Please refer to your invite. If your invite stated “and guest” or “+1”, then you are welcome to bring a date. Please include this in your RSVP.
We ask that children not attend. While we love children, we have opted to give adults a “night out”, therefore, please leave your children with a sitter. Be ready for a night full of music, drinking, dancing, and celebrating!
We will have rooms blocked at a local hotel for all out of town guests. More information to follow closer to the actual date.
Yes! There will be an open bar with a few signature drinks, as well as wine, beer, and mixed drinks. Tips for the bar staff are appreciated.
Yes - all areas of the Milton Hershey School campus are non-smoking. The school has agreed that when staff members host events at Purcell, smoking is permitted outside. Please be respectful of the property and place all cigarette butts in the designated areas. *This is Abby’s place of employment, so we hope to make a great impression.
Yes, the Milton Hershey School campus is monitored heavily by cameras. All cameras, except for the camera where you enter the Purcell Friendship Hall, will be turned off during the entire event. If you see cameras in the venue or during cocktail hour, please know that they are disabled. With this in mind, please be respectful of all areas on the grounds. Milton Hershey School gets a lot of foot traffic, and the campus is always in tip top shape, hence we want to leave it in the shape in which we found it.
We have created a small registry on Zola. You can find our registry through our website.
Heck yea! We are hoping that many of our out of town guests stay at our hotel block. We plan to all get together at the hotel bar after the reception. This information will be forthcoming.
