We met in the summer of 2016, just after Allison moved to Colorado. At a college-aged Bible study, Allison met about 20 new people, one was the "cute boy with the backwards baseball cap" whose name escaped her. Jeff was heading back to school in Spokane in just a few short weeks. Over the next year and a half, Thanksgiving, Christmas and summer breaks were always fun as we flirted and talked. Christmas break of 2017, after a group lunch at Cafe Rio, Jeff followed Allison into Cato (a women's clothing store across the street from the restaurant) and asked Allison out. After our first date, Jeff only had a few weeks of school break before he had to return to Spokane. Those weeks were full of activity: skating, bowling, mini golfing and game nights with Jeff's family. We were long distance for the whole semester and spent hours talking on the phone, video chatting, and texting. Long distance ended in May of 2018 and Jeff flew to Pennsylvania with Allison to meet her family. The summer of 2018, we both moved and started new jobs. Over the next few months, we learned how to date “close distance” which involved some lively trips to the grocery store, calendar debacles, and a fantastic holiday season. When we are hanging out, we eat tons of nachos, compare our knowledge in sports, pop culture, and history while doing crossword puzzles, and debate ethical questions. We have taken some beautiful hikes and have perfected the summer evening stroll. During a hike at the end of April, we were enjoying the view and watching a storm blow in, when Jeff dropped to one knee and proposed. Allison screamed, "yes!" at him (which somehow he didn't hear…?). We have had a blast the last few months, traveling, taking a few days trips, and planning our wedding! We can't wait to celebrate with you all in October!
