Back in the summer of 2014, before we were going back to school or starting a new teaching career, we were living the good life, the glory days. Playing volleyball and shutting the courts down several days a week, and forming what would turn out to be some lifelong friendships. Though our initial meeting was a little hostile (no one would ever believe that Jeehyun ISN'T competitive), with a little help from Sonia and Josh, our relationship was off to a running start. Since that first golden summer, we have experienced amazing trips, becoming part of each other's families, making each other's friends our friends, weddings, graduations, births. We have also experienced the passing of loved ones together, the stresses of career changes and returning to school full time, and have been each other's support and motivation through these challenges. Though we have fewer moments of "hanging out" with friends and reminiscing about the good ol' days, we are grateful for that special summer and all of the people that were a part of it. And we are grateful to be able to spend this moment celebrating our marriage with the friends and family that are near and dear to us both.
