We often reflect that had we met each other ten years ago, we likely wouldn't have made it this far. As we each watched our siblings waltz down the paths of our exalting parents, we too felt destined to follow in their footsteps of finding another and holding onto them. Yet we each failed to recognize that possibly, we're just a little bit different, and it would take some time to grow into ourselves and realize that what we thought we wanted looked nothing like the real thing. Perhaps it was due to the encouragement of friends and family, a response to the sorrowful summer of 2020, or maybe we were just ready to step through a new aperture, but we found each other in September and realized that we had discovered the person we had been seeking. Robert carrying confidence and joy, Megan holding onto pensiveness and strength. When combined, a settled balance required to move through a beautifully complicated life. Today we find ourselves absorbed in gratitude for one another. Not every day has been easy, but it has certainly been easier having the other at our side. The responsibility we hold to one another is the same as what has been demonstrated by our parents for decades. The ebullience we seek is revealed by our brothers and sisters, their partners, and the incredible families they have created. We did not follow the timeline we had each expected, but as all good things take time, we have found ourselves on a path grander than could be foretold.
