Best Man
Mike's son Jon lives with his wife and two-year old son in Wilkesboro, NC. He is an engineer supervisor with the NC Department of Transportation in Alexander County. We see Jon, Brittany, and son William frequently for lunch after church on Sunday. Jon is a master grill chef and often prepares our lunches at Brittany's parents' house. He loves to eat but also loves to work out!
Groom
Mike's identical twin brother, Matt, lives with his wife Lois in Wilkesboro, NC. He was Mike's roommate at NCSU, and they had similar careers as Agriculture Agents in the Extension Service. Matt has two daughters and four grandchildren, who keep him busy attending ball games and other events. He loves to fish, garden, cook, and have his family over to enjoy his pool.

Mike's daughter-in-law Brittany works for First Citizens Bank in Blowing Rock when she is not busy being mother of an active toddler! Brittany is an Ashe County girl whose parents live in West Jefferson...and have us over for lunch almost every Sunday after church!

Jeanne's oldest son, Bryson,(also known as Boom Boom) lives in Hartsville SC where he is a supervisor at Terminix Pest Control. He loves all sports and games, music, hunting, and being with family and friends. He and brother Dave will be giving Jeanne away..

Jeanne's younger son, Dave, lives in Raleigh where he is in outside sales for Wilkinson Supply Company. If you are not sure which brother is which, Dave is the one who is 6'4". He is married to Emily, and father of Charlie and Layla. Dave loves being with his family and friends, playing Frisbee golf, listening to music, and watching sports, especially football, basketball, and Carolina Hurricanes.

Emily is married to Dave and lives in Raleigh. She is taking a break from her career as a realtor, and enjoying being stay-home mom to Charlie and Layla. Emily is a party planner extraordinaire, and is always planning events for her daughters' school, the community pool, and her neighborhood friends. Our “Em-Dog” loves a good time!

Melissa is married to Bryson, mom to Caden, and awesome stepmom to Avery and Lily. She works at Talley Metal in McBee, SC, in shipping logistics. Both of Jeanne's daughters-in-law are awesome cooks and have helped her so much with everything. Melissa is a huge fan of Clemson football!
Man of Honor
Avery just finished his sophomore year at Charleston Southern University, where he is studying wildlife biology. He has been coming to Laurel Springs for "Deer Camp" and opening day of trout season since he was a little boy. He is also a big Duke basketball fan.
Maid of Honor
Lily is Jeanne's first granddaughter. She just graduated from high school, and is planning to attend Francis Marion University in Florence, SC in the fall. She also makes Jeanne's heart sing with her artistic talent. She is beautiful inside and out.
Man of Honor
Caden is Jeanne's "bonus" grandson. He will be a senior at Hartsville High School in SC in the fall. He loves working on his truck, fishing and hunting.

"Charlie" is Dave and Emily's oldest daughter. Jeanne was her nanny a couple days a week until she was two years old. She is starting middle school in Raleigh, and inherited her dad's swimming talent. She also excels in art, dance, gymnastics and other sports, and is fluent in Mandarin!

Layla is Jeanne's youngest granddaughter. She also attends a Mandarin immersion elementary school, loves music, cooking, and art, and is on the swim team. She is often the "entertainment committee" and keeps us laughing.

Although Jeanne has five brothers, she only has one sister, Katy...also her neighbor on the family compound in Laurel Springs. Katy has a big loving family and celebrated her 50th anniversary with husband Kenny last year. A couple of connections...Kenny's first cousin Ed Hall and his wife Pam are the owners of Doughton-Hall Bed and Breakfast, where the wedding will take place. And Kenny worked with Mike and Matt on the NCSU Research Farm back when they were working on their Masters' in Animal Science! Kenny's whole family is from Laurel Springs, which is how Jeanne ended up loving Ashe County and eventually moving here.
Bride
Jeanne was born in Manhattan, New York City, where her father worked as a commercial artist in the advertising world. She is second oldest of a big family, with five brothers and a sister. The family moved to Cary, NC when she was a sophomore in high school. She stayed in the Raleigh area for the next 53 years, marrying her college sweetheart Charlie while they were still in school at NCState. Jeanne is a retired special education teacher and later Technology Coordinator. She loves watercolor painting, quilting, reading, and being with her family and friends, especially outdoors. She moved to the mountains full-time in 2017 and has lived by herself in a log cabin since becoming a widow in 2019. Jeanne and Charlie knew Mike and Ava, Matt and Lois back in their days at NCSU in Raleigh. After not seeing each other since Mike' finished at NCSU, Jeanne and Mike reconnected after Ava passed away in 2021. She feels very blessed to have another great love in her life.
Groom
Mike is a native of Ashe County, where he and his twin brother Matt grew up learning the farm life. They worked in cattle and Christmas trees all their lives, Mike's first career was with the Agriculture Extension Service, where he was the Ag Agent in Iredell County, NC. After retiring, he was hired as an agronomist for Southern States. He consulted with farmers and sold agricultural products for the next eight years before retiring for good. He still has cattle at his home farm in Harmony, NC, and at the Miller family farm in Jefferson. Mike enjoys watching all sports, going to the beach and mountains, and is also a great cook, master gardener, and fine handyman. Mike was married to Ava for 47 years and had two sons, Jonathan and his late son Michael (1980-2015). He met Jeanne when he was in school at NCSU. He and Matt shared an apartment with a mutual friend of hers and Charlie's, and they hung out together, even going to the beach one weekend with all the young couples. No one ever dreamed Mike and Jeanne would be spending their "golden years" together as man and wife!
