Zeke and Jamie met through on-line dating. Zeke is a Heat Transfer Engineer at Shell as well as a flight instructor and competitive marksman. Though originally from Nigeria, Zeke grew up in Houston before moving to the New Orleans area about three years ago. Jamie is finally getting close to being done with her Family Medicine Residency (was doing a short stint in Surgery at the time they met) and seems to have lost track of her prior hobbies while in medicine. She thinks she used to enjoy triathlons, hiking, traveling, cooking, and reading. She's been living in New Orleans for 14 years since moving here pre-Katrina to teach for five years in the New Orleans Public Schools. She then grew interested in medicine and switched careers. With both working lots and being tired of their prior dating challenges, they sought expedited means for meeting a quality partner. Jamie was drawn to his smile and Zeke thought Jamie's long legs were something worth pursuing. Despite Zeke living "out of town" in Destrehan, Jamie was pleased Zeke chose a smart hip/interesting location for a first date in the city, itself. It was packed and they ended up going to a dive bar near-by. They had great conversation for a while and then watched a few bad horror short films before escaping... It wasn't long before Zeke was suggesting he meet Jamie's family in Colorado. They then went to Houston to meet Zeke's family in Zeke's little Twin Cessna plane. Zeke bought a house in the Uptown neighborhood of New Orleans and readily welcomed Jamie to join in making it a home. She happily gave up her adorable cottage in mid-city and now loves their perfect porch and n + 1 bathroom abode.
