Our Happily Ever After

Our love story began at Starbucks... Sounds cliché but No, we did not accidentally bump into each other there or saw each other from afar having coffee with friends but we met each other as workmates. Jayrick was already working at Starbucks Camp John Hay and I was entering the store for an interview. Apparently it was love at first sight. 😉 Moving forward to the first day I started work and we introduced ourselves and I think he was already falling. We shook hands and ofcourse I did not think much of it since I was in a relationship at that time. However for him it was something to look forward to coming to work every day. Days and weeks and months pass - my relationship at that time started to rumble down and I ended things with him. Jayrick found out and started to make his move and asked me cheesy pick up lines almost every single day. The most iconic one that i will never forget is him asking me "Candy ka ba?" me saying "Bakit?" and him saying "Candies be love?" Made me laugh and maybe for the first time in a while I was smiling. Genuinely smiling. We spent each day looking forward to the next, wanting to be always on shift at the same time, hiding from our colleagues about what we felt for each other and spent more time together after work. And I just completely fell head over heels for him. He was everything. Funny, smart, kind, caring, taller than me, dark (haha), and handsome. What more could I ask for? So I said Yes to be his girlfriend in 2016. Fast forward to October 8, 2021 - We went on a ten-day trip to Zanzibar, Tanzania. This was when Covid just finished and things were going back to the way they used to be. And after 5 years together he finally asked. Dinner by the beach, just the two of us, with heart shaped rose petals on the sand. Ofcourse, I said YES. And 3 years later this coming October 8, 2024 - We're getting married! 💖
