Clear and fresh high alpine water roars down Fish Creek Canyon, spilling over the magnificent 280-ft Fish Creek Falls, one of the most popular destinations around Steamboat Springs. It is a 15-minute drive from the Steamboat Base with parking onsite. It is an easy walk to see the falls or you can adventure into a longer hike.
You can rent tubes and drop into the River at Backdoor Sports, which is located on the Yampa River. They will have transportation for you at the end tube trip to bring you back to this spot. End next door with a cold drink or walk around downtown Steamboat.
This is a great spot to rent bikes and e-bikes. The Yampa River Core Trail is a 7.5-mile paved multi-use trail that runs through the heart of Steamboat Springs and along the Yampa River. One of Jayme's favorite stops is the Yampa River Botanic Park: six-acre sanctuary of 40 gardens, ponds and sculptures.
