We're Getting Married!

It was our freshman year in high school and our mutual friend was having one of her legendary kickbacks (party) at her house. There we were introduced. There was instantly a spark and we talked and laughed for the rest of the night. We continued to text after he left that night and next thing we know on June 2, 2009 he rode his bike to my house with Christian to come ask me to be his girlfriend. We've been inseparable ever since.

For our first official date, we went out on a double date with Jayla's parents for her 16th birthday. Olive Garden was her favorite restaurant at the time so we ate there and went to the movies. We were secretly hoping that we would sit on opposite end of the restaurant but we still conveniently got sat right next to her parents. Luckily, later at the movies they let us go to our movie where we chose Alvin & The Chipmunks since Jayla loves kid movies lol.

Nothing came as more of a surprise to me than the proposal. It was approaching my 26th birthday and I was stressing out trying to figure out what to do when Lavelle told me that he wanted to plan it all himself. The plans that we agreed on was to go out with a few of my friends; he had my outfit and everything planned. But, to my surprise he planned a surprise birthday party with all of our friends and family. Still little did I know that it would also double as our engagement party. While saying our thank you's to everyone for coming to my party, my best friend got on one knee and asked me to be his wife. That was definitely my favorite birthday so far!
