Ian & Miss Jay

In their final year at GCU, Jaycie and Ian tried to make the most of their time, focusing on friends and enjoying their last college days together. At the end of August 2022, during their final college year at GCU, one of Ian’s best friends told Jaycie he would bring some friends over to her apartment. She didn’t think much of it, but as soon as the most handsome man walked through her door, she sensed something was different. From then on, Jaycie and Ian started hanging out almost every day. For Ian, liking Jaycie felt natural from the start, without a distinct realization. Jaycie had always liked Ian, but two moments during that semester stood out: first, when they unexpectedly spent hours talking at GCBC, their college coffee shop, until Ian had to leave for class; second, when they went to church together a few days later. After Pastor Noe spoke about faith and leadership in families, their post-service conversation led Jaycie to tell her mom, visiting that weekend, that she thought Ian could be the man of her dreams. Soon after, Jaycie and Ian began spending more time one-on-one. Following some awkward flirting, they shared their feelings on September 26th, had their first date on October 1st, and started dating officially on October 10th, 2022, after Ian asked Mr. Chad for permission. Over the next two years, Jaycie and Ian visited Oregon and South Carolina, growing closer as they spent time with their families. On November 30th, 2024, after more than two years together, Ian proposed at Middleton Plantation in South Carolina. He surprised Jaycie not only with a beautifully planned engagement but also by flying her parents in to celebrate. Since then, they have spent the past months planning their wedding—with the big day set for April 2026—while growing in faith and making new memories together. The day after their wedding, Jaycie and Ian will spend 14 DAYS on a cruise going to Honduras, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Ocean Cay, Puerta Plata, and San Juan. Jaycie and Ian look forward to growing together, surrounded by the love and support of friends and family during their early years of marriage.
