Seattle Tacoma International Airport

The Seattle Tacoma airport is typically the most affordable and convenient airport to fly into from out of town. (Paine Field is another option that is closer to Friday Harbor.)

Washington State Ferry from Anacortes, WA (Ferry)

The most common option is a ferry from Anacortes, WA to Friday Harbor. It is a 1.5 hour drive from Seattle to Anacortes. Once in Anacortes, you can either walk on or drive on to the ferry. WALK-ONS. You can park your car for free at the Anacortes Ferry terminal and walk on to the ferry without a reservation. Walk-ons are $14 round trip. Once you reach the ferry terminal in Friday Harbor, you will need to find transport to your lodgings. (Taxis and other options are generally available). DRIVE-ONS. Or you can drive onto the ferry. The ferries are almost always at car capacity, so BE SURE TO RESERVE A TIME via the enclosed link if you are driving on. The ferry cost roundtrip is $76. COVID UPDATE: As of January 1, ferry reservations for cars for are currently suspended due to WSDOT's staffing issue. But we anticipate reservations will resume soon. We will update guests if/when this occurs.

It is a 1.5 hour drive from Seattle to the Anacortes Ferry Terminal. We are not currently planning on chartering a private bus due to lack of demand. Kenmore Air

The fastest way from Seattle to Friday Harbor is a 45-minute seaplane or prop plane ride (includes gorgeous scenic views). You can catch a prop plane from Seattle-Tacoma airport. You can catch a seaplane from South Lake Union in Downtown Seattle. Tickets are, however, a little pricey. (~$350 round trip). Once you reach Friday Harbor, you will need to arrange your own transport to your lodgings. (Taxis and other options are generally available). COVID UPDATE: as of January 1, Kenmore Air's website does NOT show flights available in April 2022. But they will have flights available at that time. They simply have not launched their April flight schedule yet. We will update here once flights become available for booking.

San Juan Clipper (Ferry)

COVID UPDATE: as of February 5, the Clipper is not scheduled to start until April 29 due to COVID. We will update guests if this Seattle to Friday Harbor ferry becomes an option.

On Saturday, we are chartering a shuttle to return guests to their overnight accommodations after the wedding. It will leave as needed.

There are only a limited numbers of Taxis on Friday Harbor due to the Island's size. Friday Harbor Taxi is an excellent option. We recommend calling them in advance. If they aren't available, Google has other recommendations.
