Emily had just moved to Seattle in December 2016 and couldn't wait to make some new friends. As she was carefully constructing her Coffee Meets Bagel Profile, she had no idea this online dating service would lead her to her soulmate. After some back-and-forth messaging, Jay took her on her only first date in Seattle at Duke's Chowder House near beautiful Greenlake. Emily shortly became captivated by Jay's smile and overall cheerful personality, and Jay couldn't help but notice Emily's sweet and caring personality
It was a typical Friday in the life of Emily and Jay. Jay was hard at work and Emily was off exploring nature on her day off with her friend, Jocelyn. Jay told Emily he was going to be at work late, when really, he was furiously finishing his proposal craft. They had dinner plans that night so Emily was happy to have extra time to get ready for their date. As the sun set, Emily started heading out to catch their Uber to dinner. Little did she know, Jay had other plans. Jay redirected Emily to the back yard where there were lights and rose petals surrounding a table set with clam chowder from Duke's Chowder House, where they had their first date. Of course, Emily started crying as Jay handed her another gift. It appeared to be a hiking book, but when Emily opened the book, the inside of the pages were cut out into a heart shape and there was a ring in the middle of the heart. Jay got down on one knee and asked Emily to marry him, who of course said YES! The rest is history.
