The Proposal Story:
September 8, 2023: For 1 hour, Javier shut down the Boston Public Library in Copley Square; a 930,000 square foot historic public building and the third-largest U.S. library.
Javier told Meg they were going on a "private library tour", an entirely believable story given Javier's extensive library connections: his mother is a librarian, his father is on a library board, and Javier himself is now a Boston Public Library Emerging Leader. Plus, as a nerdy PhD student, Meg had previously expressed interest in wanting to see some of the private collections. Upon arriving, a guard asked if they were there for the "private tour" and Meg - totally fooled - started to talk with him about books.
