Flight
There's a direct flight from London to Santiago offered by British Airways (BA251), with multiple flights per week, approximate travel time 15 hours. Alternatively, there are numerous options via Madrid, Paris or Brazil with an approximate travel time of 18 hours (Iberia, Air France, LATAM).
Hotel
Barrio Italia - Providencia π Underground station: Between Parque Bustamante and Irarrazabal (L5) *very close to the church. This is the new hipster area of the town, coloured old houses have become boutique hotels. Full of cosy restaurants and bars, but also nice galleries and shops to buy hand-made. If you do not stay here, you can go for a walk. Los Leones - Providencia π Underground Station: Between Pedro de Valdivia and Tobalaba (L1) *very well connected. This is the usual tourist area, itβs very commercial and has a extensive hotel offer. There is a very large shopping mall and plenty of shops. It is like to stay in Oxford Street. It also has plenty of restaurants, bars and clubs. El Golf - Las Condes π Underground Station: EL Golf (L1) - *Next to the previous area, well connected This is the business area so there are more chain hotels like Radison or Hilton. It is more office oriented during the day, and during night there are amazing restaurants/bars. It is very safe at night. ποΈ Can I stay in the city centre? The city centre is beautiful and we love it. Also it has great hotel options. However, it is not safe to walk at night. For tourism, you can easily reach the city centre by underground in 15 minutes if you stay in the areas mentioned above.
Train
Santiago has one of the best transport systems in Latin America, mixed with buses and underground (metro). Any place that you will visit, is reachable by public transport. You only need a Bip card. You can get it in any underground station. Also, you can move using Uber app or similar, like Cabify.
