The love of the Goonies brought Lisa and Jason together. After showing a mutual interest in that movie, along with maybe a little initial attraction, they both decided to swipe right on a dating app. After the first date, where Jason acted like a total gentleman, Lisa knew he was a keeper. And when Lisa ordered a burger but immediately removed the lettuce, tomato, and onion, Jason knew that she was someone interesting he should keep around. And the rest is history...
Lisa had been nagging Jason for a while about marriage. Sly Jason decided he would go buy a ring when Lisa was in Connecticut visiting a friend. A week later, the two were in Newburyport and Lisa told Jason she wanted to go to the jewelry store to look at rings. Jason tried everything to distract her, but she wasn’t having it. They went in and the person that greeted them was the same lady that sold Jason the ring the week before. She played it cool and didn’t lead on to anything. After looking at a few rings way out of any normal price range, Lisa felt content and knew Jason had a good idea of what she wanted. Fast forward a month later to when Jason got a call that the ring was finally done being resized. He picked it up that morning and left it burning a hole in his pocket for a few hours. Since it was a Friday, usual dinner plans took place - Mexican food at Casa Tequila in Seabrook. In typical Lisa fashion, she couldn’t decide what to have for dessert - churros at the restaurant or gelato from a different location. Jason made the executive decision to go to Newburyport for gelato. After picking out some delicious flavors, the happy couple walked on the boardwalk near the water and found two seats. These seats happened to be next to a wedding that was taking place. Lisa said, “Our wedding is never going to be this small.” Jason took this as an opportunity to ask how Lisa would like to be proposed to. She said, while completely clueless, that it should be somewhere special and meaningful for both of them. Jason then asked, “what if I did it now?.” Lisa laughed and said, “yea right, I know you and you won’t do it.” Jason then asked again and Lisa laughed again and started to get a little angry because he was being such a tease. Then Jason got down on one knee, pulled the ring out of his pocket, and asked “no really, will you marry me?” Naturally Lisa’s first reaction was, “are you f*#!ing kidding me?” But then once the shock wore off she said yes!
