We're getting married!

We met like a true modern day couple - on the internet. Jason and Lauren first crossed paths while swiping on Tinder. Jason's profile was the most unique Lauren had ever seen and she knew that he had a story that she wanted to hear (if you've have seen it you know what Lauren means when she says unique). Anticipation was building after having some really great conversation and a lot of the so called "boxes" being checked. After a few days of chatting Lauren and Jason had their first official date at New Holland Brewing in Grand Rapids to see if things were as good as they appeared on paper. After finishing their meals Jason asked Lauren if she wanted to drive around town. Once Lauren got to Jason's car he pulled out a bag of wind up toys and other silly toys. Lauren should've ran then, but she continued through the date and has never looked backed since. To this day Jason & Lauren like to point out the table they sat at on their first date :)

As the planners Lauren & Jason both are they had a clear idea of when they would like to get engaged - by the end of 2020. As the year came to a close Lauren was living on the edge of her seat knowing that any day could be The Day. Butterflies were constantly flying around Lauren's stomach as any slightly romantic moment could be "the one". Well, one harmless night while Jason was away at basketball Lauren went to shoo Waldo (their cat) off Jason's desk, as she was not supposed to be up there. As she swept the cat off the desk a small black box caught Lauren's eye. Lauren's heart stopped and SHE KNEW exactly what was in the box. Without hesitation she opened it and screamed. She immediately called her now maid's of honors, Johanna & Lilly, to tell them the exciting news as she slid the ring on - ya know, just to see how it fit. It was perfect. As the night progressed Lauren knew she had to play it cool before Jason came home so as not to alert him of the accidental discovery of the not-so-hidden ring. After a few days passed Lauren felt as if she were going to burst, so one night while sitting on the couch with Jason she came clean and told Jason she found the ring. From there, Jason promised Lauren since the surprise had been ruined she will have to wait many more months before a proper engagement so it could be a new surprise. Much to Lauren's surprise Jason proposed the very next day as the two of them were cutting their first Christmas tree together. Lauren was completely caught off guard and may have forgotten to even say yes before she called the parents to tell them the wonderful news. Though the engagement was not the grand firework display and extravagant event that Jason had hoped for, it holds an extremely memorable place in each of their hearts.
