FAQs

Question

When & where is your wedding?

Answer

Date: Saturday, May 23rd, 2026 Location: Oak Island, North Carolina Venue: 7005 W Beach Drive, Oak Island, NC In addition to the ceremony & reception, we are planning an additional optional beach/pool party to celebrate the day after. Check out our 'Events' section for more details.

Question

Why North Carolina? Why Oak Island?

Answer

Carolina Beach (just one peninsula north of Oak Island) was our first extended getaway together (a whole month)—and it truly felt like something out of a Nicholas Sparks movie. We stayed only 100 steps from the ocean, watched the sunrise and sunset every day, wandered the boardwalk and sand dunes, and discovered our shared love for seafood boils. That trip sparked our travel bug and still holds such a special place in our story.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Saturday, April 18th

Question

What if I RSVP after the deadline?

Answer

All guests that have not RSVP'd by the deadline, will be marked as not attending. This is due to the advanced planning of attendance our venue and vendors require. Thank you for understanding.

Question

What if I’m unable to attend your wedding?

Answer

We know travel isn’t always possible, and that’s absolutely okay. If you can join us, we’ll be thrilled to celebrate with you—and if not, your love and well-wishes from afar mean just as much.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Please check your online RSVP for a plus one indicated in the form. Due to venue space constraints, we can only accommodate those specifically listed on the online RSVP. Thank you for your understanding.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

As much as we love your little ones, our wedding ceremony and reception will be an adults-only event (except for the wedding party) due to venue space constraints. This will be a well-deserved night off to indulge, unwind, and celebrate with us. However, we recognize that some of you will be traveling with your kids, so please know they are welcome to join the day after beach/pool party! We hope this advanced notice allows you to make any necessary plans to join us.

Question

When does the wedding reception end?

Answer

Our reception will end at 11:00pm.

Question

Is there parking at the ceremony/ reception venue?

Answer

There is limited parking available at the venue. We recommend carpooling, or grabbing an uber. There are two public parking options near the venue. Parking is $20 for the day. The walk to the venue is 5 minutes - The Point Parking: 6959 Kings Lynn Drive, Oak Island, NC 28465 - The Point: 6909 W Beach Dr, Oak Island, NC 28465

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our ceremony and reception will be held outdoors. Expect warm weather and a short walk through sand during the ceremony, so light fabrics and comfortable shoes are encouraged. As the evening breeze rolls in, it may cool off—ladies, you may want to bring a light shawl or wrap.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Late May in Oak Island, NC is generally warm, sunny and breezy -- classic costal spring with daytime high around 80°F, with evenings in the mid-to-high 60s. Perfect beach weather! Overall: expect comfortable, coastal, “vacation-mode” weather!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, please where cocktail attire.

Question

What kind of shoes should/ shouldn't I wear?

Answer

Calling all ladies! We recommend skipping stiletto heels, as you’ll be walking on sand and uneven surfaces to reach the ceremony. Opt for chunky heels, wedges, or flat sandals—no ruined shoes or twisted ankles on our watch!

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We'd recommend maximizing your stay by booking an Airbnb or Vrbo in Oak Island, NC the collective "island" is within 20min of the venue. If you'd prefer a hotel, we've secured a room block at the-- Holiday Inn Express in Bolivia, NC (just 15 min from the venue), or you could explore the cute boutique hotels on the island-- see the travel page for more details.

Question

Should I extend my vacation beyond the wedding timeframe?

Answer

This is completely up to you, but we love to travel around North & South Carolina & definitely recommend it! We'd recommend spending a few days north in Wilmington, NC or heading south to Charleston, SC. Check out the 'things to do' tab for ideas.

Question

Should I bring a gift to your destination wedding?

Answer

Since you’re traveling for our wedding, making the trip is a gift in itself — physical gifts are absolutely not necessary! If you do choose to browse our wedding registry, however, any items on the list can be shipped directly to our home or we will have a box for cards at the reception.

Question

Will I need to bring my formal invitation with me for details?

Answer

No, need to bring it. For your convenience, we’ll send the latest details via text throughout the week/weekend. Simply provide your mobile number when you RSVP and you can leave the formal invitation at home.
