We first met on a group hike in 2016 thanks to Ashley and Robin Pietschmann and Becca Reed. We barely spoke and I was in a relationship at the time, but Jason took some beautiful waterfall photos from the hike. Six months later, I was single and wanted to do a new years eve hike and decided to invite Jason. After getting us lost in the mud and the rain and not even remotely on the trail, Jason stuck with me and we managed to find the trail. We made it to the peak where Jason wrapped me in a hug, and as we stood on top of the mountain heart to heart in the sideways rain and wind, and I knew this was something special. That evening, he was my new years kiss as we watched the last sunset of 2016 together on the beach. As if there weren't enough signs pointing to "yes", he won me over for good when he stayed sober that night after going out with his boy to a snazzy New Years Eve Party at Turtle Bay so that he could come find me in the wee hours of the morning at at an undisclosed location known as the "rabbit hole." A year and a half later, he proposed to me on a small island off Oahu's east side known as China man's hat (because of the shape of the island). Less than a month later on July 12, 2018, we were married in a small office room in a storage unit facility in Pearl City, Oahu. The ordained minister also served as our witness. We are incredibly excited to now celebrate our marriage with all of you and to say our vows to each other with all of our loved ones present and have a proper party! Thank you for being a part of our story and our love!!
Dearest Family and Friends, We regret to announce that we will be cancelling our wedding celebration on October 3, 2020. We were hopeful that the COVID19 pandemic would be behind us by now, but it unfortunately remains very much a threat. After much consideration and discussion, we feel it would be irresponsible of us to ask our family and friends to put themselves at risk with air travel, hotel stays, and the close exposure to others that is part of a large wedding. Additionally, the social distancing protocols and possible quarantines meant to reduce these risks would dampen the spirit of our wedding festivities. We are thankful to have been married at a small service in Hawaii and wanted to share our joy with you this October. Unfortunately, year 2021 does not present a convenient rescheduling date, and so, sadly, we must cancel our celebration. We thank you for your responses, patience, and understanding. Our invitation to you was a sign of our love, and we hope to find occasion to celebrate with you soon. Love and best wishes, Jackie and Jason
