Based on the most recent information we have received from the city of Salem and the hotel, ALL guests will have to show proof of vaccination to attend the wedding in the hotel. Proof of vaccination is also currently required for entering restaurants, bars, museums, galleries, theaters, and more. Please remember this if you are exploring other parts of Salem during the weekend. There is also a mask requirement in effect that applies to all common areas of the hotel, including the lobby, restrooms, and hallways to guest rooms. The mask requirement will not apply while in the ballroom or in the cocktail hour space. All servers from the Hawthorne will remain masked while serving food and drinks. We strongly encourage anyone who is able to get a booster prior to the wedding. We also strongly recommend getting tested prior to the wedding. If you test positive, are showing symptoms, or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive, we ask that you please stay home.
If you plan to stay over for any part of the weekend, yes, you should book a room. Please refer to the Travel page for instructions.
There are two lots for hotel guests behind the hotel: a small and a large. Parking here is on a first-come first-served basis.
This isn't Catholic school - there are no uniforms or dress codes. But "formal" or "cocktail" attire will probably best fit the vibes.
As much as we love your kiddos, this is going to be a grown-up affair. We appreciate you understanding and respecting our wishes.
Please check your invitations; we are reserving a specific number of seats, and you will see indicated on your reply card if we have reserved a seat for you to bring a date.
Sorry, but this is not quite how it works. We have other loved ones we’d love to extend an invitation to if you or your plus one are not able to attend. We appreciate you respecting the guest list we crafted.
Actually, yes! They're not allowed at the wedding itself, but the Hawthorne IS a dog friendly hotel! So feel free to bring them so you can sneak some cuddles during the cocktail hour. Just mention your pooch to the hotel when you make your reservation.
Why not?
Being in Salem, the Hawthorne does have a reputation for being haunted. Some rooms in particular. According to the hotel, "We find that if you are looking for a spooky experience, you may get one. On the other hand, most of our guests do not have a haunted experience."
Yes.
