Travel Note

NZ eTA

You'll need to apply for an NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) before your trip. It’s a quick online application and most approvals happen within minutes (ours came through in about 5 minutes!), but it can take up to 72 hours, so we recommend applying a few days before your departure just to be safe. There is a small fee for the application (about $117–$123 NZD, roughly $70 USD per person). You can apply using the link below.

Travel Declaration

In addition to the NZeTA, all travelers entering New Zealand must complete a New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD). This collects your travel, customs, immigration, and biosecurity information before arrival. A few things to know: Everyone must complete one, including New Zealand passport holders, babies, and children. The declaration is free and can be completed online or through the NZTD app. You can submit it starting 24 hours before your trip to New Zealand, and it must be completed before you reach passport control when you arrive. Your declaration is digitally linked to your passport and checked when you go through the eGate or see a border officer. Even if you already have a visa or NZeTA, you still need to complete the declaration. We recommend completing the digital declaration before your flight so you don’t have to fill out a paper form on the plane.

Flight

Auckland Airport

We recommend flying into Auckland Airport (AKL), the closest major airport to the wedding venue. Please note the venue is still about a 2-hour drive from Auckland. For guests flying from Washington: Air Canada and Air New Zealand offer direct flights to Auckland from Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Alternatively, Sea-Tac (SEA) and Portland (PDX) airports have multiple flight options to Auckland with varying layovers and travel times.
