Our love story begins the way most modern romances start nowadays — online. The lovebirds saw each other's profiles and thought, "Huh they're kinda cute" and soon couldn't stop texting each other. After a successful first college date of tv and greasy chinese takeout Jas was ready to invite Jack to meet her roommates. Luckily, the perfect opportunity presented itself by their second date as the time honored Boston tradition of a blizzard party. Hindsight truly is 20/20 as this was no ordinary blizzard, but the first of a record setting string of storms that earned the Winter of '15 the title of snowiest winter on record. But thanks to this storm, Jack was snowed into Jasmine's apartment for the next three days and the rest as they say is history.
Jack and Jas had been kinda sorta dating on and off for a little over a year. And the night of April 22nd was no different from any other night that they decided to link up. But for some reason, this time, everything felt different. Picture this: Rain falling lightly on the street, star lights twinkling on the balcony in the fading evening light, and Jack puts on some music. Chet Baker begins to croon "My Funny Valentine" and to Jas's pleasant surprise Jack invites her to dance. As the two sway to the music, they make eye contact and have a shared thought, "We have to actually date each other or never speak again". You can guess which option was taken ;)
Jas and Jack were finally leaving Boston after nearly a decade and for their five and a half year anniversary they wanted to go back to where their romance began to blossom. Unfortunately, their favorite sushi restaurant closed during the pandemic. In a twist of luck, the shop owner had reopened under his brothers' place and the sushi dreams continued. Don't get too comfortable though because the story still has a lot of turns. Upon arriving at the restaurant, Jas and Jack discovered they weren't open for sit down, only delivery and takeout. At this point Jack was starting to lightly panic as Jas was not only getting hungrier by the second, but she forgot to bring a jacket and was starting to complain about the cold. By experience, there was a short window before Jas's attitude would be nearly impossible to contain so they moved quickly to find a park to salvage the evening with a picnic. At one point there was a farcical dance of Jack trying (and succeeding) at getting Jas his vest to make her warm without spotting the ring. But they finally made it to the park. After enjoying their meal Jack asked Jas for a kiss over a table. Once they sat down, a ring box magically appeared on the table. After a fun game of "What is that?" "Open it and find out " Noooo you can't just say that WHAT IS THAT" Jas was delighted to find her engagement ring and said yes to the love of her life. So long story Jasmine was hangry and cold and somehow Jack got a ring on it and Jas is so happy she didn't ruin her proposal with a bad attitude.
