Travel Note
PRIVATE TRANSFERS: For ease and comfort, we recommend pre-booking a private transfer to your accommodation in advance rather than taking a coach. A private transfer takes approximately 1 hour from either Chania or Heraklion. (Booking a coach could take double or triple the time of a private transfer. We learned this the hard way...) TAXIS: Taxis are readily available at Chania and Heraklion airports and will charge between 90-110 euros to Rethymno. CAR HIRE: Car hire isn’t essential if you’re staying in Rethymno, as the town is very walkable and taxis are readily available. However, if you’re planning to explore more of Crete during your stay, hiring a car is a great option. STAY: If you’re wondering where to stay, anywhere in Rethymno that isn’t too far from the venue would work perfectly. Please feel free to check with us if you’re unsure. We’ve also put together a few hotel options we loved the look of:
