Jasmin's POV: I started at Hapag-Lloyd in June 2024, the new girl, excited and nervous, meeting my team and getting trained by one of the famous “Wonder Twins.” And if you haven't guessed it yet… the other Wonder Twin was none other than Eris. Even though he wasn’t on my team at the time, everyone knew who he was because of how great he was at his job. (And who knew I’d eventually take his spot… and maybe even be a little better than him? Kidding! Mostly. ) One day, I had a Booking 101 training session on his floor. And guess who slid in just to make himself known? Yep, Eris. That was the first time we officially met. He was so kind, so welcoming, and honestly… he had the cutest smile ever. He walked out of the room, but I kept catching him peeking in. (Caught ya!) Fast forward to July, my first invite to an outside-of-work event for a colleague’s birthday. I was excited, part of the “cool kids” group chat even though I didn’t recognize half the numbers. My friend and I pulled up, saw some of the Hapag crew, and little did I know… Eris would be there. We were all having a great time, and when Eris walked over to say hello, I immediately said, “SHOT?” very on brand for me. We went to the bar, took shots, grabbed a Long Island, and started talking about how I was adjusting at work, if I liked it, and just casually getting to know each other. Let’s just say… by then, Jasmin was on another planet, dancing with everyone, including Eris. At one point we were locking eyes, and the energy between us was intense in the best way. It was something I’d never felt before. The night ended with a trip to Waffle House with friends, and then they all took me home. But from that moment on, me and Eris talked nonstop. He quickly became the kindest, warmest, most genuine human I had ever met. And it didn’t take long for me to realize… he was the man I had been praying for. Eris's POV: I knew something was different the moment our eyes met on that dance floor. It was like a wildfire so intense that lit up everything inside me and melted the rest of the world away. In that one moment, I knew I had to know her. After our first real date, it became crystal clear: this was the woman I wanted to walk through life with. I fell in love that night; completely, hopelessly. Her smile, those beautiful brown eyes… they pulled me into a world where it already felt like our future had begun. Our first date was a SiR concert. Shoutout to Karlan for the tickets! There was only one tiny issue: she had never listened to SiR before. So I took it upon myself to curate a week-long crash course. Two albums, daily rotation. The good news? She became a fan. (You’re welcome, SiR. We arrived at the concert mid-performance (because, in true us fashion, punctuality is optional). We grabbed drinks and stood toward the back, wrapped up in the music and each other. I held her from behind, my face buried in her curls, arms around her waist. We swayed, completely lost in the moment; and maybe a little lost in each other. When the concert ended, neither of us was ready for the night to stop. So we ended up at what would eventually become our go-to spot: Moondogs. We sang karaoke, played beer pong, and took far too many sour bomb shots. I remember watching her during karaoke and feeling this overwhelming joy, like I was exactly where I was meant to be. Our last stop was Waffle House, the sacred temple of late-night decision making. Over scattered hash browns and the best drunk food known to humankind, we replayed the night with dopey smiles we couldn’t hide. And in her eyes, I saw it, clear as day: we were on the same wavelength. This was something different. This was the start of us. This is what love looks like.
