Ubud is approximately a 35min drive from Keramas, here you can explore waterfalls, dine beside stunning rice terraces, visit temples and the monkey forest as well as shop at their boutique art markets.
Sanur is approximately a 25min drive from Keramas and 20mins to/from the International airport. The beach along the front is lovely and has a walkway extending north and south, there are shopping market stalls, beauty spa's, boutique shops and the new Icon shopping mall. There is a good mix of both western and indonesian restaurants (warungs), and a large choice of accommodation available to suit all styles and budgets. This is our go to place to stay when we are coming in and out of Bali on the way to the islands.
Lembongan island is ideal for a few days of island time with easy access via 30-40min fast boat that leaves from Sanur. It has easy access to surf breaks - playgrounds and shipwrecks, along with snorkelling, diving and plenty of restaurants. There is a multitiude of accommodation available on the island, or you could go over for a day trip! Lembongan is the perfect place to rent a scooter without being stressed about Bali traffic, our personal favourite areas of the island are Mushroom Bay and Jungutbatu Beach.
If you're looking for a place to snorkel, scuba dive, ride push bikes around and relax Gilli T is the place, we love it here and have been a few times, the diving is incredible. Heaps of accommodation options around and the ferry also leaves from Sanur Harbour.
Another interesting island out from Bali that is currently undergoing a lot of development. We went there at the start of 2025 and really enjoyed exploring the island on scooter. You can get here by a flight or by ferry from Sanur Harbour.
