Please wear formal western or Indian wear, whichever you are comfortable with. If you would like (but do not feel obliged) you can wear these colors on these nights. Jaggo: bright colors (think orange, pink, yellow, red). For the mayian: shades of muted purple, shades of yellows and mustards and ivory. Anand karaj: women should wear long dresses or pants that cover their kness and shoulders. Men should wear pants. Everyone will have to cover their heads and coverings will be provided at the Gurdwara. Reception: cocktail attire.
The Baraat: Groom side!!!! Time to show up all together to meet the Jas's side of the family. Traditionally the groom rides a horse to the Gurdwara with his side of the family and the entrance they meet the brides side of the family. The men from both sides will then exchange garlands. Breakfast: Have some breakfast before heading into the Gurdwara for the Annad Karaj.
Men please grab the ramal (small scarf or handkerchef) provided by the Gurdwara and cover your heads. Ladies bring a scarf or grab a ramal as well. For clothing cover your shoulders and legs. Before heading into the Gurdwara take off your shoes and be prepared to sit on the floor.
Yes, you can. Please do not feel obligated to go out and buy Indian clothes if you don't want too. Here are some links I have gathered from my family: https://www.kalkifashion.com https://cedarandpine.in/collections/ready-to-ship https://www.lashkaraa.com/ https://www.hatkay.com/
Cowboy wear if you want, but just think non-traditional (Indian) wear.
