One November, Ashlee’s best friend, Madison, and her now husband, Spencer, hosted a Friendsgiving dinner - a tradition where friends come together to celebrate Thanksgiving with a hearty meal and great company, ie not with family. This was a rare occurrence of Jake to be social and decided to bring his goofy dog, Kingston, along for the evening. Little did he know, this night would change his life forever. He walked into the cozy dining room to notice a woman standing in the living room, her radiant smile matching the warmth of a home full of fresh food and lit joints. She had brought her dog too - an adorable Weiner Dog named Leela. Ashlee was laughing as Leela tried to jump at the table of food, Jake couldn’t help but be curious of the pair. (Later Leela succeeded at running across the table to engulf bites off everyone’s plates, within what felt like seconds during a toast.) Jake and Ashlee soon found themselves chatting about their dogs, sharing stories of their pups' antics and favorite activities. Kingston and Leela hit it off immediately. Jake used it to his advantage "You know, it seems our dogs need to get together more often," he said with a grin. "Maybe we should arrange a playdate?" Ashlee agreed, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "That sounds like a great idea. Leela could use more friends." As the evening went on, Jake couldn’t help but be drawn to Ashlee. Her laughter, her kindness, and especially the way she looked in those damn jeans. From then on, their lives have been intertwined like the leashes of their dogs. Jake & Ashlee often think of this night and feel very grateful for Spencer and Madison for their warm, inviting home, where friends gathered for laughter, some doobies, and where a simple dog playdate turned into a love story Ashlee & Jake will forever cherish.
