The National Park entrance is only 30 minutes away from Sylva. Explore various hikes or go on scenic drives around this beautiful part of the country. Pro tip; if you head to the park during sunrise or sunset you're bound to spot wild Elks roaming!

Explore the Town of Sylva

Main Street in Sylva is home to a collection of unique shops, restaurants and breweries. Take a stroll through this quaint mountain town and experience what makes it so special. Food & Bars we recommend: Foragers Canteen, Breadhead Tiki Shak, Lazy Hiker Brewing Company (plus there's much more we haven't explored yet)!

Take a scenic drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherokee, NC 28719

Milepost 469 of the Blue Ridge Parkway is the southern tip of an iconic road which stretches through North Carolina and Virginia. This road is a gateway to endless views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Take a scenic drive through the winding mountainous roads but make sure to stop every once in a while to take some photos! Maybe even plan to have a picnic at an overlook.

Bear Lake Reserve

Bear Lake Reserve, just 10 minutes from Castle Ladyhawke, has plenty to enjoy! Guests can take a dip in the swimming pool, hit the tennis courts, explore scenic walking trails, or get out on the water with kayaks and boats. It’s the perfect spot to relax, stay active, and enjoy the mountains.

Bryson City

A nearby mountain town only ~20 minutes from Sylva. Bryson City is an acclaimed small town with incredible views of the surrounding mountains. Home to the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, guests can explore its various museums, book a scenic train ride or check out the town's many shops & restaurants.
