Liberia International Airport
Liberia International airport is STRONGLY recommended for guests to fly into. This is a small airport that is easy, clean, and convenient to navigate and get a rental car if needed. Vans can be hired as well to get to your hotel. This airport is closest to the venue and to beaches if you decide to stay near the coast instead of near Lake Arenal! Look at Going.com for cheap flights during this time. Flights can range from $300 to $600 round trip from ABQ if bought in advance.
Rental Car
Adobe Rental Car (Liberia)
If you plan on traveling around the country while you are there, a rental car is definitely needed. Driving in CR is harder than the US due to smaller roads and rough paths. We recommend a small SUV or 4X4 only while you are there to get to all the locations you might want to visit. Insurance is expensive in CR, Adobe seems to be the best if you dont have a preferred rental company with good rates nearby! Be ware that it is a 2.5 hour drive from Liberia to the Venue at lake Arenal.

San Jose International Airport
San Jose is a large Airport that services much of Costa Rica. This airport is only recommended if you decided to stay in La Fortuna/Baldi Resort. San Jose is a large city and more run down than the pacific coast towns and cities like Liberia, so please be aware! The road from San Jose to Arenal can be rough at points, but either a Rental Car or Van can be hired easily from this location. Flights to San Jose from Albuquerque range from $350 to $600 round trip. We recommend to look at Going.com to find a cheap flight during this time!

Adobe Car Rental (San Jose)
If you would like to do traveling while in the country besides to the wedding, a rental car will be required. Rental cars in CR can become expensive due to the insurance rates per day. We recommend you pick your favorite company, and see what deals you can get. Note that driving in CR is more difficult than the US due to smaller rougher roads. Some Roads to the beach also require good ground clearance, so we recommend an small SUV, preferably with 4x4/AWD for your time in CR. Be aware it is a 3 hour trip from the SJO Airport to Arenal!

Either a rental car or van transport from Liberia or San Jose is recommend. You can also try Ecotermales Fortuna as an alternate near by!

If you would like to spend your time on the beach while you are in CR, we recommend Playa Flamingo. Fly into Liberia and its a 60 minute drive! You will need to rent a car to get here (!Warning! roads can be rough) and plan travel to the venue (2.5 hours one way).
