Things To Do

There are many things to do in wine country, both on the Sonoma and the Napa side. We recommend making some appointments for wine tastings or tours in advance of coming if you will have the time to explore. If alcohol isn't your thing, there's plenty of shopping and some great olive oil producers out here and they also host great tastings! There is also a huge amount of hiking, biking, and exploration nearby. Feel free to rent road bikes from local shops or drive out to the coast line to experience the beauty of the Pacific Ocean and the rocky cliff side coastline dotting California. Or just explore downtown Sonoma! Some of these tastings can even be done in downtown Sonoma without having to trek too far to a winery if you won't have a car. We've listed some of the place's we've been or recommend down below that are in the downtown area, as well as some of our favorite places to go if you are up for a short trek or have access to transportation. (Lyft and Uber are great options too!)

Sonoma Plaza

453 1st Street East, Sonoma, CA 95476
, (707) 996-1090

Downtown Sonoma is beautiful, lively, and has so much to offer. It is packed full of shops, restaurants, wine, parks, and sweets! Walk around and check it out!

Crocker & Starr Wines

700 Dowdell Lane, St. Helena, CA 94574
, (707) 967-9111

One of our absolute favorite wineries. The staff are incredibly nice and accommodating and they host lovely private tastings. This is some of Jarod's favorite wine (the critics love it too). The Adirondack chairs facing the vineyard are a great place to take in the wines and vines after a tour. The Cabernet Franc is a stand out, and honestly, so is everything else they make. They are on the Napa side of the valley not far from downtown St Helena.

Figone's Olive Oil

Williams-Sonoma

, (707) 939-8974

This is the one, the original Williams-Sonoma location that started the national chain! It used to be a hardware store and the original owner was also the owner of that store before he started the iconic brand. Check it out, it is pretty cool.

, (707) 343-1384

One of our favorite restaurants in the area.

Bodega Bay

Bodega Bay, CA 94923

A great place to explore with some beautiful coastline views as well as some amazing road bike routes and tasty bites to eat (if you like seafood, there are some great options and Hog Island Oyster Company is just a short trek down US 1 in Marshall too). You might even find me road biking around up here during the week (let me know if you want to join!).

Darling Wines

64 Bonneau Rd., Sonoma, CA 95476

If big, heavy, hangover-inducing wines aren't your jam try checking out this awesome boutique producer in Sonoma. Their tasting space is just a quick hop down the street from our venue. This husband and wife team are adept in crafting terroir-driven, flavorful wines that don't have to punch above 14% abv. A very difficult thing to find in today's marketplace. They also credit the farmers that help pick their crop each year on every bottle by name!
