It all started with an after-work coffee after matching on Tinder. After sitting down at a little table, it immediately felt comfortable, and we talked for hours. As luck would have it, we grew up in exactly the same neighborhood separated by not even a mile. We likely rode the school bus together every morning, but we never met. It's probably fortunate that we came together later in life after we had grown up a little more - we might not have matched so well in high school! We began seeing each other every week, and soon we were inseparable. We moved in together before our first anniversary, and our bond has only grown stronger and deeper with each passing year.
For our 5th anniversary, we planned a trip to Sweetwater Creek State Park to stay in a yurt for the weekend and celebrate the milestone. I'd asked if we could get some nice pictures during our stay, so that morning we walked down a trail and set up by the creek. It was a beautiful spot near the ruins, where huge rocks jut out into the gently rolling water. And then in the middle of snapping some photos this wonderful man told me he couldn't imagine his life without me in it, and he dropped to one knee right there on the rocks. I was so surprised!! I didn't even look at the ring, or think to push the photo button.
