How did we get engaged?

Jared did an amazing job and we are so thankful for everyone that helped! We had a plan to go fly fishing on the Madison River, planning to take the dog (Herbie) on the boat for the first time. The morning of, I looked outside and it was snowing. Jared got home and I told him there was no way he was getting me on the river while it was snowing. Jared pointed to the mountains and said it was sunny at the river and that he would dress me appropriately. So an hour later I was in the truck, dressed by Jared and ready to go. We got there and it was sunny and a quiet day on the river. We stopped and got out of the boat for the dog to swim and for Jared to take his drone out to "take a picture of us". We were taking pictures and the next thing I remember Jared was on one knee in the middle of the river. Excited, but more nervous to have this new ring on my finger in the middle of the rushing water, we got back into the boat. We went down the river a little farther and pulled off to a campsite where all our favorite people, to my surprise, were there with champagne and a fire! It was the most perfect day filled with love! The next day we had an engagement party with more people that we now call family in Bozeman and I couldn't be happier with the weekend it turned out to be. Fun fact: we never ended up being able to get any pictures pulled from the drone from that day. It is something Jared and I get to remember just ourselves :)

What is your favorite activity together?

We love doing everything outside! In the winter you will find us skiing (Jared taking the steep scary way down and Tori stopping every other run to take a break with the girls). In the summer we are usually around water in some capacity, whether it is on our raft boat fly fishing, canyon ferry with friends, or camping with friends!

What is the most spontaneous thing we've done?

Tori: I would say the biggest one is moving out to Montana with a boy I met 9 months beforehand and never stepped foot in the state before! Jared: The most spontaneous thing we have done together was definitely driving all the way to Austin Texas after knowing each other for only one month for Rachel and Ryan's wedding!

How we met

From Maxfield Oelkers POV: There I was, wasted off 18 beers from Truck Park and the Minnesota Wild game. After a tough loss to the LA Kings, the boys wandered to Cowboy Jacks. The night went on and was coming to a close, trying to gather the fallas together one by one. All of a sudden a tap on my shoulder, Tori says "Hey do you have a Zyn?" I go "No, but I think he does" as I point to Jerry. The rest is history.
