So close, yet so far was how our relationship started. For two years, we were office next door neighbors (our buildings were literally attached) without knowing each other. After we finally met, we went out for a happy hour but then Jared never called Lauri back for a couple of months. He started sending memes and that's how our meme-based friendship flourished with occasional lunches at La Frutería. One day, Jared took Lauri to the driving range and it was quite the experience. It started with Jared forgetting to put the basket under the golf ball dispenser and hundreds of balls bouncing all over the concrete. Next, a golf instructor approached us and he must have sensed the chemistry between us because he asked "Are you guys a couple? I do couples too!" Although we weren't' sure if he was talking about golf (or something else!) we laughed awkwardly and both realized we did in fact want to be more than friends. A few months later, we started dating and the rest is history.

Tan cerca pero a la vez tan lejos es como empezó nuestra historia. Por más de dos años fuimos vecinos de oficina sin conocernos (nuestras oficinas literalmente estaban conectadas). Cuando porfi nos conocimos, salimos a una hora feliz pero Jared no me volvió a hablar por varios meses. Después de varios meses, nos empezamos a mandar mensajes, memes y de vez en cuando salimos a comer a La Frutería. Un día, Jared invito a Lauri a jugar golf y fue un desastre total. Primero, se le olvido poner la canasta en la maquina y terminamos con miles de pelotas de golf regadas por todo el piso. Después se nos acercó un instructor que nos preguntó ¿Son novios? Que nos puso en una situación muy incomoda pero hizo darnos cuenta que queríamos ser más que amigos. Unos meses después, empezamos a salir y aquí estamos ¡a punto de casarnos!
