If you haven't heard this story, get ready for a literary level of coincidence. Jared was "up north" at Platte Lake in Michigan staying with his long-time friend's, Ben and Paul at their parents' cottage. Carly was invited by her dear friend, Brock, to stay at his family's place across the lake on the same weekend. Carly was the newbie to the friend group that weekend, and took a mutual liking to Jared during a day filled with lake-life festivities. However, Jared exhibited a strong preference for Notre Dame football and embellished stories, two things which drove Carly up a wall. The two weren't from the same place, and went their separate ways. Until a few months later... Carly and Jared happened to be in Las Vegas at the same time, on respective singles trips with college buddies. Jared saw that Carly was in Vegas via Facebook and sent her a message. It didn't take long to realize they were staying at the same hotel. They met up at the pool and for late-night takeout and were quickly reminded of the initial 'spark'. Maybe it was worth driving the two hours to see each other back in Michigan after all. Jared drove his offensively fossilized Monte Carlo to visit Carly in Midland/Chicago. She would visit him in Grand Rapids as well. Life came fast, as it does, and the couple grew closer exponentially. Their backgrounds and interests are not the most similar, but they find commonality in things like food, comedy, and nature. Oh, and a strong distaste for Michigan football. We are not the type to beautify our story, but it does have a handsome amount of romance to it, don’t you think?
