What should I wear?
Answer
The ceremony and reception will be formal, with black tie preferred. For men, black tuxedos or suits are encouraged (navy is also acceptable). For women, long gowns are preferred. September weather in Virginia can be a bit unpredictable, so please dress accordingly. There will be a short walk on grass during the ceremony and cocktail hour, so keep footwear in mind. We can’t wait to celebrate with you and see everyone looking their best!

Are children invited?

We absolutely love your kids, but we hope you’ll enjoy a well-deserved night off to celebrate with us! Both the ceremony and reception will be adults-only. We appreciate your understanding and hope the advance notice allows you to make arrangements so you can join us for our special day.

What will the weather be like?
Answer
Weather permitting, parts of our big day will take place outside. In Williamsburg, the average high temperature in September is about 80°F with an average low around 65°F, so days are typically warm and evenings pleasantly cool. The terrace adjacent to the ballroom has an awning to help with the occasional rain shower or particularly warm afternoon. Please keep this and the potential for variable fall weather in mind when packing for the weekend.

What are the instructions for arrival and parking?

If you are driving to the wedding, please check in with the gate attendant and let them know you are attending the Duguay/Paxson wedding. Follow the signs along Kingsmill Road for “Kingsmill Resort / Registration.” Event parking will be available at the resort. Once parked, please proceed to the lobby, where staff will direct you to the event lawn for the ceremony. If you are staying at the resort, your hotel room or condo is just a short walk to the lobby, making it easy to arrive on time and comfortably.

If your invitation says "and Guest" then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.
