We met in March of 2018 through mutual friends. Our first date was actually a blind date, when Alayna attended Jared’s fraternity formal. Little did Jared know, Alayna had her wisdom teeth removed the Tuesday before the formal. Even with chipmunk cheeks, we immediately hit it off and loved each other’s company. After that first date, we casually kept in touch. In August of 2019, Jared spontaneously called Alayna while she was visiting her sister to ask her on a date. We quickly realized how much we enjoyed being together and began seeing each other more consistently—even spending holidays together, including Alayna’s family Christmas. By the end of December, we made it official. Although long distance made things challenging at first, Alayna later moved to Milwaukee while Jared was attending graduate school at Marquette University. After nearly six years together, we got engaged during a motorcycle trip in Upper Michigan. Jared secretly snuck Alayna away from the main motorcycle group to go check out an 'unplanned' waterfall. Little did Jared know, the only way to access the waterfall was a steep unpaved road with goats casually roaming about. This made for a tricky ascent on motorcycle, to say the least. Unscathed, we locked in our commitment at Hungarian Falls in Hubbell, MI. We are so excited to make it official and look forward to our future together, with plans to purchase a home nearby soon.
