If you’re a party person and like the energy of large groups, you can opt to stay at the complimentary Waiheke crash pad AirBnB that Roger & Liz has rented for you on the evening of Tuesday, Feb 11th. 7 bedrooms · 10 beds · 5 baths - +16 guests Otherwise, you’ll want to book your own Waiheke accommodations for Feb 11th. Alternatively, you can catch a late ferry back to Auckland to sleep in your own hotel room. The ferries run till midnight. If you book your own Waiheke Island stay, try to find lodging near the bus route, as that will save you money on taxis.

We have a block of hotel rooms reserved for our wedding guests at this hotel. These accommodations are a great value, less than $100 USD per night for a studio with a king sized bed. Each room comes with a full kitchen and stove, and just one street over is a Countdown supermarket, giving you total control over your food spending. This hotel is only a 3 minute walk from the Ponsonby Social Club, where we will be partying on Thursday, Feb 13th. Quest Ponsonby is only a 20 minute walk to Roger & Liz’s Ponsonby AirBnB. If you would rather find a different place to stay at, we recommend sticking to the Ponsonby or downtown areas of Auckland so you can still meet up with the rest of us easily. Shuttle to Matamata

On Saturday, Feb 15th, we are arranging for chartered buses to take us from downtown Auckland to Matamata (the town next to Hobbiton). More details to come, but expect the bus to depart around noon. The cost of the bus ride will be covered by the Jaos. If you are staying at the Quest Ponsonby, you should fully check out of your room on Saturday, Feb 15 and take all your luggage and belongings along with you to Matamata. You can check back into Quest Ponsonby when our buses return to Auckland after the wedding and Waitomo Caves tours on the evening of Monday, Feb 17. Be sure to confirm your dates when you book with them.
