Anyway, Faith and Jordan did "meet" on zoom in June of 2020, but their first date didn't come until Decemeber. Jordan and Faith worked together on Student Senate at Colorado Christian University on the Executive Council. Together, they helped lead the Senate and collaborate with different parts of campus. In November, Faith and Jordan on a whim went to Target to grab a gift for a friend. Jordan had had some interest, and this one-on-one time began to peak that interest. More flirting commenced until Thanksgiving break and then some semi-casual texting long distance. On the Monday after break, Jordan asked Faith to meet up. Faith thought it might be a conversation about Senate, but Jordan had other plans. So while sitting across from one another at a conference table, Jordan asked Faith out to coffee. Thankfully, Faith said yes and thus kicked off two months of conversations, soul searching, many times of seeking counsel from others, and prayers to our Lord for direction. On January 30th, Jordan and Faith met up to have what was going to be the pivotal DTR conversation. The pair walked around Belmar Park for miles, as they discussed the future. It all ended (and maybe began) with Jordan calling Faith's dad to ask for his permission to date Faith the next day, which again, thankfully, he said yes to.

Anyone who knows Jordan and Faith knows that we are extreme planners. Our engagement was no different. In October, Jordan received Faith's parents' blessing to ask for Faith's hand in marriage. And thus, the engagement planning began. Jordan gave Faith nine days to have “tentatively open” for date nights. We went hiking, out to eat, into the mountains, to the Broadmoor, and to various date spots we had frequented over the year. Each date was special- but Faith always wondered in the back of her mind “when is he going to propose?” On December 4th, one year to the day when Faith and Jordan first went to coffee on their first date, Jordan picked Faith up at 3 o’clock, and off we went, with Jordan taking a couple of odd turns to “throw Faith off.” We entered Garden of the Gods and as we pulled into a spot, Jordan was realizing that he would need to stall for about 10 minutes to time the sun just right. He read his journal entry from the year before, and then it was time to exit the vehicle and head to our engagement spot. We paused at a beautiful overlook and began to look out at the scenery. And before Faith knew it, Jordan was kneeling next to her, asking the question she had always dreamed of hearing. Time stood still for a moment, and then it was JOY. We spent the next 45 minutes in La La land, taking pictures with our photographer. Three-quarters of the way through our shoot, Faith turned around to see her sister and Jordan’s brother walking up exclaiming “Welcome to the family!” Faith was shocked to see the two of them (Michael was supposed to be in CA!). Our next adventure took us to a random neighborhood in COS. As we pulled up to a house and opened the door, our family was all standing inside! Jordan had coordinated with family from Texas, California, Wyoming, and Nebraska to pull off this surprise. Faith was SHOCKED! We celebrated with tacos and champagne and took LOTS of photos to savor the moment.
