Katlynn Cha

Maid of Honor

Hi, my name is Kat (Katlynn), wifey to Chris Cha, mother of Mochi & Bean (our two little cats) and future mom to baby Cha coming in November 2026! Janna & I met in college as assigned freshman roommates and we had an instant connection through our shared love of books & hilarious sense of humor. Janna is one of the closest people who have led me to Christ & I am eternally grateful for her, our long-lasting friendship, and all the adventures we’ve experienced. I’m a huge bookworm, lover of boba tea, amateur cookie baker, and daydream traveler when I’m not working my usual 8-5 shift as a receptionist at a primary care clinic.

Rebecca Vazquez

Maid of Honor

Hello, my name is Rebecca! Janna and I became really close friends in high school, and our shared faith in Christ has made our relationship deeper and stronger throughout the years. I am so grateful to have her in my life and beyond excited to be a part of her special day! Outside of my job at Texas Woman's University, I keep myself pretty busy with things I love. My favorite thing to do is gather with friends and family, cook for them, and just catch up. On the weekends you can find me exploring local coffee shops, restaurants, and small businesses. On Sundays I get to spend time with some sweet kiddos and lead the pre-K classroom at my church. I also love staying active outside through tennis, shooting hoops, or rollerblading, and if I ever have to slow down, you will see me working on an embroidery project.

Isabel Castillo

Bridesmaid

I met Janna, aka Banana (what I call her) in elementary school, and she has been my absolute best and longest friend. People come and go, but no, NOT Janna. No matter how long or far apart we may be, we know that we always have each other. She truly understands me and I cannot thank God enough for her and her friendship. I am a crochet artist and frequent my local farmer's market. My favorite thing to do is to watch movies and I recently got married! Now I'm very excited to be a part of Janna's special day like she was at mine!

Jaylynn Tsui

Bridesmaid

A few months ago, when I first heard that Darin was bringing his girlfriend home for Thanksgiving, I was, quite frankly, stressed out. As Darin’s sister, I really wanted to at least make a decent first impression on Janna. Now, after having actually come to know her, I can confidentially say that I needn’t have worried so much. She’s one of the sweetest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I’m so excited to be able to officially call her my sister in law!❤️ Right now, I’m a student at the University of California, Irvine, majoring in English. In my free time, I love reading novels and comics!

Sarah Dunn

Bridesmaid

I met Janna in the summer after our freshman year of high school through a program called UBMS. Though we attended different high schools, Janna and I lived in neighboring school districts and found ourselves in the same small group that summer. We were the only two girls, and as we walked across the UNT campus that first day, we naturally fell into step beside one another. I’ll never forget the first words she said to me… “Nice weather we’re having, isn’t it?” To this very day, we laugh about the topic of that sentence, and while we spent our days at UBMS learning about science and math, I also found the friendship of a lifetime that summer. It has been the greatest privilege to walk beside her all these years. Along the way, I’ve been working on my Ph.D. in chemistry at TCU, where I study compounds with potential anticancer applications. It has taken a lot of schooling, but I love what I do. Outside the lab, I love writing fantasy novels, being outdoors, working on DND campaigns, playing games, and hanging out with my family, friends, and boyfriend.

Amanda Herring

Bridesmaid

Janna and I met back in 3rd grade at church, either in kids choir, Sunday school, or Awana (Bible-based training program). I honestly can’t remember a time when we weren’t friends. I always remember sitting with her in church when we were younger. I’m so grateful for our friendship! I am currently working at Target, and one of my favorite things about my job is helping guests find all the different items and snacks they want (sometimes things they didn’t even know they wanted). I’m also going to school so I can pursue a career in healthcare, where I would like to eventually work with geriatric patients. When I’m not working or studying, you can usually find me working on a crochet or knitting project that I’ve started!

Lydia Dean

Flower Girl

Lydia is an easy-going, happy 2-year-old with the sweetest of hearts and a strong independent streak! From her first smile at 2 months, she hasn't stopped smiling since! Lydia lives in central Oregon with her parents, two dogs, and baby sister Callie. When she's not playing with magna-tiles or singing the cutest made-up songs, she's spending time with her little sister and caring for her baby dolls just like she sees mommy do with sissy!

Asa Turpin

Ring Bearer

Asa is an energetic, loving boy who enjoys everything outdoors, Lord of the Rings, and boardgames! He loves Michael Jordan, playing basketball and greeting everyone who comes into our home with excitement and a great big smile. He is so excited about being a part of Janna and Darin’s Big Day (and is beyond thrilled to bear a ring “like Frodo did”).😁

Caleb Balabat

Best Man

I met Darin when we were in middle school at my church, Watermark Fellowship in Chino Hills, California. Initially, we did not hang out that regularly because of our 1 year grade difference, but we got to know each other on multiple youth nights and Sunday service. Our friendship was not developed by a single, definitive moment, but by the small things we experienced together, from playing music at our homes to long talks about what God is doing in our lives. The coolest thing I've got to do with Darin was getting baptized at Watermark Fellowship together in 2022. From there, our friendship was gone, replaced by brotherhood in Jesus Christ. On this side of heaven, Darin is more than my best friend, but my eternal brother in Christ. I've gotten to know Janna over the course of the past few months when Darin would return with her to California. Despite the short amount of time, in our conversations and hang outs with friends, Janna strikes me as a faithful woman who loves the Lord very much, which is reflected by how she loves Darin. I pray for their continued dependence on Christ and the joy they can give each other as they prepare their next step in life.

Ryan Oulang

Groomsman

I met Darin last year through Georgia Tech Navigators and he still feels like the older, wiser big brother of the group. From the beginning he’s been one of the most solid role models and friends I could ask for. Some of my favorite memories with Darin include doing Bible study together, watching baseball games, exploring Atlanta like the Coca-Cola tasting room, and him patiently helping me wrestle through some of the most complicated coding and machine learning problems known to mankind. But more importantly than all of that, Darin played a huge role in introducing me more deeply to Jesus, which has genuinely changed my life. As for me, I’m currently working in solar manufacturing at Runergy. It may not be the most glamorous job in the world, but it’s good engineering experience. In the future, I’m hoping to move back into the medical technology field, find a role with better work-life balance, and spend more time serving God, helping the community, and tackling challenging problems that make the world a little better. Darin is one of the most thoughtful, faithful, and genuinely good people I know. Seeing him and Janna together makes complete sense, as they’re both kind, joyful, and deeply committed to the people around them. I’m incredibly happy for both of them and grateful to witness the start of this new chapter in their lives.

Ethan Piper

Groomsman

I met Darin at M28 Church in Atlanta while we were both in grad school at Georgia Tech. We were in Bible study together and regularly hung out with our Navigators friend group. I was also fortunate enough to be invited to Darin’s regular worship nights. But, the first thing we connected over was actually League of Legends. I remember being really excited to find someone else who also watched LoL esports. I was his first friend to meet Janna in person. Sadly, I was only a master’s student compared to Darin’s PhD, so I left Tech soon after they started dating to work in software near San Francisco. But even in the short time I got to know Janna, it was so clear how happy they made one another and how they encouraged each other to grow. I’m so excited to celebrate their marriage!

Jay Chen

Groomsman

Hi! My name is Jay, and I met Darin in our undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego. Through our classes there, several nights of playing the piano/singing together, and trips to IKEA, we became close friends. After graduation, we remained close through our visits of each other in Baltimore/Atlanta, and more memorably through our winter trip to Iceland. There, Darin learned how to identify the Northern Lights and was also shocked by the erupting geysers! Currently, I'm researching LNP-mRNA gene therapy for cardiac arrhythmias in my 4th year of PhD at Johns Hopkins. For fun, I enjoy attending baseball games, reading & watching science fiction and action, and trying new Asian foods!

Bo Wang

Groomsman

Darin and I have known each other since middie school, but we really became close in 8th grade when we sat together at lunch almost every day. It's no surprise he's one of my best friends, given how long we've shared life's moments together. Back then, we even shared the same Minecraft account so we could play on the same server - just in different regions so we wouldn't kick each other off. Some things never change, and I still enjoy gaming whenever I have free time. These days, I work as an accountant and also substitute teach on the side. I'm truly honored to stand by Darin as a groomsman and be a part of such an important day in his life. - the best Aram player he’s ever met!

Ryan Lu

Groomsman

I've known Darin since we went to elementary school, but I only really got to know him during marching band in middle school and high school. As someone who was in the same grade and took the same classes, I could rely on him for anything, whether it be schoolwork, buying a good phone, or someone to just mess around with and talk to. Darin has been a great friend over these past 12 years. We'd play Star Wars, watch different anime, or go biking when he was in town. He's always a delight to talk to, and I wish the best for both him and Janna!

Eunice Ng

Mother of the Groom

Christmas is her favorite holiday because it is the celebration of the birth of Christ and a time of family gathering! In her free time she loves line dancing with a local dance group and singing in a local choir. Her favorite colors are pink and blue and her favorite animal is a dog because the family has the cutest Shih-tzu named Mei Mei!

Peter Tsui

Father of the Groom

Christmas is his favorite holiday too because of the atmosphere and getting to spend time with family! In his free time he likes to watch baseball and basketball and loves to play tennis with friends! His favorite color is red and his favorite animal is also a dog and he loves the family dog Mei Mei!

Irene Herron

Mother of the Bride

Any day that she gets all to herself is her favorite holiday! But her favorite thing about Christmas is the caroling and the white elephant gift exchanges! All furry animals are her favorites as well as the color light green. In her free time, you can find her playing sudoku, crafting, learning new songs and recipes, in addition to spending quality time with God!

Jason Chia

Photographer

I'm Janna's cousin-brother as we spent most of our childhoods together, growing up in the same home. We used to love playing basketball or the Wii together and bonded over music too. Through the ups and downs of life, we were thankful to have each other! I am very involved in my work and in my church, and I have a wonderful wife, where we recently just became parents to a precious baby boy!

Sarah Carter

Wedding Cake Baker

Janna and I first met at a house-church Bible study, and from the very beginning I knew she was someone special. Over the years, our friendship has followed us through many moves, seasons, and miles of distance, yet it has only grown stronger. I've had the joy of watching Janna grow into the incredible woman she is today - full of strength, resilience, and heart. I'm so proud of the person she's become, and I feel so grateful to call her my friend. I can't wait to see the beautiful life that she and Darin are going to build together. Cheers to the happy couple!

Aniket Dhar

Photographer

Darin and I first met in our undergrad at San Diego (same major with almost the exact same schedule), and we hit it off almost immediately after our first meeting when he asked whether I was the kid in the front row watching tv during Chem. After that, Darin was a constant companion throughout, from online calls trying to stave off boredom during COVID to lab courses where we found new and creative ways to pass the time. Even now, though we do different things almost half the country away, Darin remains a close friend and a constant companion. I got to meet Janna when Darin invited me to take photos for the couple, and it was so lovely to see the two of them so in their element around one another. I’m so ecstatic to be able to be able to cheer on Janna and Darin, and I’m looking forward to their many years together!
