It all started in 2021, when Vasu sent Janki a message on Instagram, asking if she was interested in talking. At the time, she comically let him know she wasn’t interested. And just like that, their story paused before it ever began. But sometimes, timing is everything. Two years later, in 2023, fate brought their attention back to each other in the most unexpected way. As if the timing had finally aligned, Vasu felt an undeniable pull to reach out once more. What started as a simple message soon turned into effortless conversations and late-night laughs, growing into a connection that felt like it had been waiting for the right moment all along all leading to an eight-hour FaceTime call that neither of them wanted to end. From that night on, something shifted. What once felt like a missed connection became the beginning of something undeniable. The right person had simply come back at the right time. In April 2023, Janki and Vasu’s fun-filled first date began with him picking her up and heading to Sojuba in Fenway, where they spent hours talking, laughing, and getting to know each other before ending the night with some friendly competition at an arcade. What started as a spontaneous plan, quickly turned into a night neither of them wanted to end.

Vasu had been planning this moment long before Janki ever suspected a thing. He had carefully picked out her ring and had been holding onto it since August. All the while, Janki was sending him ring inspiration photos, completely unaware that he already had the ring tucked away, waiting for the perfect day. That perfect day came on December 31st, 2025...during their first trip to India together. Janki started her day at the hair salon, unaware that it was about to become one of the most important days of her life. The two spent the afternoon together going to the mall, heading out to lunch, and even making it back to the hotel with plenty of time for Janki to get ready. She thought they were heading to a photoshoot while Vasu knew he was about to ask her to spend forever with him. As the sun began to set at Juhu Beach in Bombay, surrounded by the sound of the waves and the magic of the moment, Vasu got down on one knee and asked the question they both knew in their hearts was coming.
