This is the story of two people destined to be together—like two galaxies slowly dancing towards each other, becoming one. Janil and Hosni were in each other’s orbit for quite some time. Both spent most of their lives in Elizabeth, New Jersey, but it was about a decade after graduating high school where their paths started to align. They encountered each other a few times – once at a local bar meeting up with mutual friends where they exchanged a curious glance – another time at a karaoke birthday where Hosni mentioned that he “made sure to remember who she was” and together sang “Creep” by Radiohead. Each time however, they drifted back into their separate nights. It was over a year after their first encounter when their orbits finally began to align. Their mutual friend invited them to an Emo Night in Brooklyn and suggested Hosni give Janil a ride. In true fashion, their friend disappeared—but by then, it didn’t matter. Left in their own little universe, Janil and Hosni spent the night talking, laughing, and singing along to every song, gravity finally doing its work. They ended the night at Tropicana Diner—somewhere between late-night bites and endless conversation, two revolving galaxies finally collided, becoming one. It’s been more than eight years since they first crossed paths, and yet, you can still find them side by side—chatting each other up like they just met... still orbiting, still dancing, still written in the stars. ✨
