Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA)

Only about a 15-minute drive to downtown Santa Barbara, making for a very quick and easy arrival. Layovers are generally through major hubs like Los Angeles (LAX), Phoenix (PHX), etc. Once you arrive, a rental car is not necessary given the walkable nature of Santa Barbara! Getting to Hotels: Ubers/Lyfts are available, as well as taxis and airport shuttles.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Usually offers the most direct flights and best prices. LAX is approximately 90–120 minutes (100 miles) south of Santa Barbara, depending heavily on traffic. Getting to Santa Barbara: Rental Car: Recommended if you plan on exploring other parts of Southern California. Once you get to Santa Barbara, ubers are regularly available, but everything is walkable! Santa Barbara AirBus: A comfortable, non-stop coach bus service that runs between LAX and Santa Barbara.

Burbank Airport (BUR)

BUR is located about 1.5 to 2 hours south of Santa Barbara. It is a smaller, stress-free hub that gets you on the road and headed north in minutes since it is north of LA traffic. Getting to Hotels: Ubers/Lyfts are available, as well as taxis, rental cars, the Santa Barbara Airbus, or the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner, which picks up right at the airport. Arrival: Once you reach Santa Barbara, a rental car is not necessary! The city is incredibly walkable, and Ubers, Lyfts, and taxis are all readily available to get you to your hotel.
